Hubby Q and I were married for 12 years, and we celebrated our 12th anniversary on this Valentine's Day. It also happened to be the first day of the Chinese New Year in 2010.
After going through the necessary family visits and gathering in the earlier part of the day, we went out to buy a heart-shaped cake I'd seen in BreadTalk shops that's been on sale specially for the occasion (VDay). TW has been especially excited, but couldn't quite grasp the significance of this.
Is it someone's birthday cake? She asked.
No, it is for celebrating mummy and daddy having been married for 12 years, I explained.
Oh, so that's why you need a birthday cake for the celebration?
Er, sure, darling...
